Premier's Reading Challenge

16/05/2016
The Premier's Reading Challenge is an annual statewide initiative for state and non-state schools and home-educated students up to Year 9, as well as children (aged up to five years) enrolled in an early childhood centre, and individual home readers.
The Premier's Reading Challenge is not a competition but aims to improve literacy and encourage children to engage in reading for pleasure and learning.
Students who complete the challenge have their efforts recognised through the receipt of a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier of Queensland.  For a student to successfully complete the Premier's Reading Challenge they must read or experience the number of books indicated below.  Experiencing a book can include classroom or at home activities such as shared reading, listening and reading along with a book, or being read to.
Prep - Year 2 Read or Experience 20 books
Years 3 - 4 20 books
Years 5 - 6 15 books
We hope to have a record number of participants from our school this year.
