Student Council "Fiver for a Farmer"

Responding to suggestions and encouragement from students and families, our Student Council have decided to support the “Fiver for a Farmer” campaign.

Belmont State School will do so on Monday 20 August – a week after the planned national event in support of drought affected farmers, but giving everyone plenty of time and notice.

The concept is simple – on Monday 20 August, students are encouraged to come to school dressed as a farmer (some examples being wearing a checked shirt, jeans, overalls, hat, etc.) and bring along a $5 note as donation.
The Student Council understands that $5 may be a lot to ask – especially with Jeans for Genes Day just gone and the disco coming up – so any money that can be spared will be appreciated. All the money collected on the day will be donated towards farmers and drought relief.
